About 600 residents from Ang Mo Kio GRC and Yio Chu Kang SMC joined their MPs for the annual Tree Planting Day activity on 8 Nov at the new Lorong Tanggam Park off Jalan Kayu road. PM Lee Hsien Loong was the Guest-of-Honour for this event.


Lorong Tanggam Park is a new park created under the Estate Upgrading Programme. Residents from this Jalan Kayu private housing estate are happy that there is now a park for them to mingle with each other, while their children or grand children can also have a place to play.

This Tree Planting Day activity was organised by Jalan Kayu Division. Before the tree planting, about 200 residents from Jalan Kayu and Sengkang West divisions were flagged off for a 2 Km walk-a-jog by Jln Kayu MP Mr Wee Siew Kim.

The event also saw the launch of Project E.A.R.T.H., a recycling project initiated by NEA.

As Jalan Kayu is well known for its roti prata, all participants were treated to this Indian delicacy, kindly sponsored by Thohirah Restaurant.
